Odd insect, bug nymph?
This strange looking beast was on the underneath of a piece of rotting wood. It was less than 2mm long. I thought possibly a bug nymph but have really no idea.




Any thoughts appreciated.

Funny, I came across this earlier with no luck... then about an hour ago I was thumbing through an invert book and incidentally came across a Mealybug page, order Hemiptera, family Pseudcoccidae. Looks a nice match...

Hope this is at least a further avenue of research!

Yeah, mealy bug or maybe a scale insect looks like a good place to start, cheers Jason.
