Not sure I recall seeing bees so silver - any id? |

Hi Amber, it's hard to be certain from this shot, but I would say it's a Common Carder Bee - Bombus pascuorum. They are often very pale in colour.

Is the Bee also on Himalayan Balsam? Himalayan Balsalm does leave similar deposits on the bodies of insects that visit the flowers. |

Definitely the Balsam - we've seen the bees in them for weeks - might be a pest of a plant, but the bees love it. |

Yes, I'd also go for B. pascuorum- also we are getting to end of season, so colours beginning to fade, not so many workers now with that rich foxy orange on thorax. | | |
