Strawberry Snails?
I am new to snail/slug Id and this one is proven tricky. I have seen many similar pics to mine but I am swayed towards the Strawberry Snail. Can anyone help clarify? Found in Bristol near brambles in October

Hi Seb!

I'll go for a Glass snail, though I'm not too sure of the species. My Gallery photo I managed to ID as an Aegopinella nitidula, though when I did I think I went for the first latin name attributed to the vernacular/common name without knowing you often get one common covering several different species! Maybe yours is the same... not sure.

The strawberry snail is more patterned than the glass, and stronger looking in shell IMO. Thanks for the Strawberry Snail reminder - when I checked it to compare the shell with your photo I realised it was one I'd recently seen and mentally-noted as a glass snail!

This looks to be Oxychilus helveticus. Sometimes this species will give off a garlic smell, though possibly not as strong as Oxychilus alliarius.
