Close-up of underside of Green Shield Bug

I thought some of you might be interested to see this close-up shot of the underside of the Green shield bug in my last post.

Actually this pic was taken before the pic in my earlier post. After taking this shot I offered it my finger and it used it to right itself - and then I took the shot from above.

Thanks for the under view Bruce, the rostrum surprised me as that isn't a part we see in it's normal position.

Now I will be tipping them over to take pics of their underside!

I've recently come across some interesting SEM images of a shield bug's rostrum (University of Alberta). A quick Google image search on "shield bug rostrum" will find the site.
