Wasp queen ?
Found this wasp yesterday (first of the year) behaving as if it was drunk- very unsteady on it's legs. Assumed it must be a queen at this time of year but it didn't seem to be big enough ?

Most probably a queen at this time of year .Its not unusual for some to look a bit smaller after hibernation.

Looks like a queen V. vulgaris to be Brian.
