Fungus Gnat ID
I had a look at the diptera website which Geoff F recommended in a previous thread
British Insects: Diptera Families - Contents
I thought it was very interesting and helpful, so many thanks. I did find the wing venation numbering a bit confusing. How do the numbers 1-7 correspond to the Comstock Needham nomenclature ?
Anyway I had a go at using it with this tiny midge ( body length 3mm) and I think I've identified it as one of the Mycetophilidae family ( I don't expect to get it any further than this ). Could someone tell me whether or not I'm correct.

It is a fungus-gnat, so well done.
Going on the size you mention and looking at the venation, it could well be a species of Phronia
