Except those that are either extinct (B. cullumanus and B. subterraneus) or suspected of never having an established population here in the first place (B. pomorum).

It doesn't deal with the B. lucorum complex in detail (ie it ignores the very cryptic species B. magnus and B. cryptarum). These latter two species can only be 100% reliably separated using genetic means anyway.

I have ordered the £9.99 book from NHBS along with a 10x magnifier.

Who knows, I might even be able to identify a few more bee snaps this year than I have managed in the past.

I ordered that book from the same (NHBS) company on 09/01/09 and it is still on backorder. No explanation so far, but perhaps it is being reprinted.
