| | | Wasp Hi All,
I found a wasp climbing up my living room window yesterday. I was quite surprised considering 1 the time of year and 2 the fact the weather was so poor yersterday (heavy snow). I didn't have any windows opened so I have no idea how it got there. I wonder can anyone shed further light on this.

| | | Re: Wasp If it was a large wasp it was probably a queen. They hibernate during cold weather and fly in Spring searching for somewhere to make a nest. This one has probably been brought into the house by accident or has been in the roof/behind curtain ?. The warmth inside has woken it up.

| | | Re: Wasp yes, queens will over winter in curtain folds and places, so if you have had your heating up, that might have woken them up.

| | | Re: Wasp I left the loft door open this afternoon and came home to find one on the landing. Wouldn't normally expect to see them until April, but obviously the warmth woke it up. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
