| | | Parasitic wasp I found these images that i took in 2007, i cant remember if i posted them here before.
It was one of the strangest things i`ve seen, regarding insect behaviour.
The parasitic wasp had the ability to fold its wings up, with the aid of an appendage on its abdomen .

Would be interesting to ask around about the wings on diptera.info when the site is back on-line

To be quite honest I should probably not say a thing about Diptera & Hymenotpera etc. just too much of a nincompoop with those (hence the "imho"), but the head shape and small antennae really do make it look like a Dipteran to me. Having said that, I can't really see the the little knobby wing replacements
Anything I seem to find about "Aphidiidae" suggests those should be Braconids (??) and all I've ever seen of those is with quite distinctly "waspy" long antennae ...
Let's see what DH suspects

Found on the page linked below. Soybean Aphid Biological Control
Which would make it a Chalcid wasp ? ...
