Stony Stratford, Bucks. May 08. On fence beneath mixed broadleaf trees (ash, sycamore, willow and others). Size ~3.5mm.
Help with identification appreciated.

I'm no way knowledgeable about aphids but my immediate thought was peach-potato aphid - Myzus persicae: very variable in colour and pattern but some like this?

Paul - Thanks for the suggested id. I've done some Googling and yes, I can see the similarity with M. persicae (and size is about right too). I would say it's a possible but I'm not totally convinced - will do some more Googling.
