| | Live two-spotted ladybird in January!?! Today I found a two-spotted ladybird flying flying around indoors. Is this unusual for this time of year? (I live in Scotland and it is currently minus 2 degrees outside) |

Have you got a photo or could you get one. Are you sure it is a ladybird? |

| | | Re: Live two-spotted ladybird in January!?! As far as I know you often get ladybirds hibernating in houses, but obviously this one doesn't believe it's time for bed
Has one room become warmer than of late for whatever reason? If so, it could be that it's temporarily left hibernation thinking the weather's improved.

I hope I haven't woken the poor thing up Will it go back to sleep if i put it somewhere cooler? I was thinking about putting outside tomorrow if the frost has gone. Or i could find somewhere cooler indoors maybe? |

| | | Re: Live two-spotted ladybird in January!?! Um... I suggest a Garage if you have one. It may stay awake in the warmer temperatures but will most likely return to hibernation when it realises there are no aphids around. Other WAB'ers may suggest other places to put him so check back tomorrow |

| | | Re: Live two-spotted ladybird in January!?! Phoebe: I thought that too, but they are insectivourous in the way that they only go for plant lice, aphids and other tiny invertebrates.
Try it however, Tiaruallana - it may just work... though don't hold your breath. |
