| | | Entomology research in winter! This is just a general question for the entomology guys that are involved in research.
I know with global warming etc there are many more insects about in the winter these days, but what sort of research do you do at this ‘quiet’ time of year?
Is it a case of gathering all your data that you’ve been collecting through the year and publishing reports on what is found?
Or is it holiday time? |

| | | Re: Entomology research in winter! For me winter is a time to sort out all the stuff that couldn't be done in the summer-sorting out the collection, identifying things that weren't immediately important and were put in the to-do pile, and catching up on paperwork. Work-wise there are papers to write, and maybe another project to set started on.
Of course there will be a holiday invoved somewhere too |

| | | Re: Entomology research in winter! My winter research will be going through my "Pics to be sorted" folder, which currently holds 735 items .... I know some of those will be deleted when the time comes, but I also know I have a hell of a lot of unidentified stuff in there - in fact I have a lot of unidentified flower shots in there which will surely be appearing in these forums at some stage in the future!! |
