| | | Harvestman Hi,
I went on a Harvestman hunt yesterday, and found one!
I had a terrible time getting pics of it with being in shade so I moved the bark to sun, and with the pale greenish brown colour, with no apparent markings, the sun glare didn't help either! I had thought the body size was about the same as the last one but maybe it's closer to 4mm as it's come out at 40mm in the pic.
I did a lot of light alteration and a little sharpening to bring out the details, I hope it's sufficient to recognise.
One for Pudding! Or anyone else with an avid interest in these.
One more note, there looks to be some barely visible soft eggs in front of it!

| | | Re: Harvestman Hi Action Man,
That's interesting, as it hasn't got the darker pattern down the middle of the back like the other one had. But it does have short legs, lol! |

| | | Re: Harvestman It looks a bit pale for Agrestis, to me, although they do vary in colour especially at this time of the year.
But I think this is the correct family, maybe Tridens instead of agrestis. We need a clear close up of the trident assembly and the femora to be more certain.
Perhaps Arp will shed a bit more light on this specimen soon. |

| | | Re: Harvestman Thanks Geoff, I don't think I can get a better shot without a good macro lens. I imagine it's still in the same place though! Waiting for Arp... |

| | | Re: Harvestman Thanks Action Man, nice images!
As far as I can see they don't look the same, P. agrestis looks more rounded although that may be due to eggs. I can't see any of the pattern down the back either, even with blowing the pics up. It does have some black marks near the tail end, and I think there's a paler stripe down the middle of the back. The legs are mottled, I have a side view but it can't be seen well as it was down a gap, however the hind legs show a lot of brown with less pale olive green blobs. I was beginning to think mine could be upside down!
I can't post any more pics until after midnight. |

| | | Re: Harvestman Thanks Steve, yes I know they are not good but it wasn't easy
I found a pic of Odiellus spinosus on flickr and it definitely does look like that, mine being a little lighter but the stripe, black tail end marks and leg blotches as well as the shape match up quite well.
