Hello, am currently trying to identify some small invertebrates, the pictures which follow were taken through a microscope just yesterday, specimens have been preserved in ethanol. They were found in coarse sand sediment at the tope of the shore.
Any help at all will be much appreciated, thankyou.
An mite of some sort? Ventral view.

The beetle is a staphylinid, but I carnt ID it from this photo im fraid. |

They were found on a shingle beach in Aberystwyth. The mite is less then a mm long, the beetle is 7mm long. I know the photos aren't the best but in the circumstances they were all I could manage at the time. I did sketches of them to help me later on. | | |
