She was snapped hanging around with loads of Common Blue males, so am I correct in assuming she is a female Common Blue?   |

Yes a fine example of a female Common Blue Damselfly. I wish I could get my damselflies as sharp as that.

Thanks, Colin ....
I'm sure I read somewhere that female common blues come in two varieties, blue and green – but this one seems very pale. Maybe a young one or even a faded old lady? |

Recently out of the packet by the look of her. 
Given a couple of days she will have turned bright green. |

They all go through a Teneral stage where the colour is exactly as this fine image shows. The female will fade from Green to Brown as she ages. | | |
