| | | wasps Today while taken kitchen waste to compost bin watched at least six wasps flying around my ivy flowers was wondering if anyone else as spotted any?

Male Vespula vulgaris and V. germanica are still around in my garden, and I suspect that is about it until the next spring. |

How do you identify a German Wasp? Are they the ones that get on my sun lounger first thing in the morning? |

If not, then V. vulgaris is the most common, the german wasp being less common but widely distributed and the Median wasp being a UK-inhabitant since about the 80's.

| | | Re: wasps Strangely in our garden we only seem to get Vespula germanica as when I have taken photos it is always this species, I believe you can tell the difference to Vespula vulgaris by the face markings |
