| | | A couple of Identifications Please First a moth, I've had one identification as a Cabbage Looper but looking at images on the web it dosen't look right
And the second is a ladybird, which I think might be Cream-spot ladybird (Calvia 14-guttata)
but someone else thinks 16 Spot Orange ladybird perhaps.
Thanks

I'm no expert, it has to be said, but I would agree with you on the ladybird – Calvia 14-guttata – but I'm afraid I have no idea about your moth. I'm sure someone will be along soon who will point you in the right direction! |

| | | Re: A couple of Identifications Please I'd say the ladybird is Cream-spot, judging by the arrangement of the spots.

| | | Re: A couple of Identifications Please I'd hazard a guess at Angle Shades (Phlogophera meticulosa) with the crests behind the head but I prepare to be corrected by somebody who knows better!
Do you have a photo of the forewings at all? Angle Shades has a very distinctive appearance. |

| | | Re: A couple of Identifications Please Definitely agree it's not Angle Shades now we've seen the full photo. My book's not great but Dark Arches Apamea monoglypha looks much more likely. Good call!
