| | | White-Letter Hairstreak Hello,i'm a very happy butterfly photographer today.
I had my first sighting of a White-Letter Hairstreak & also my first photos of one aswell.I'm well happy, lol.
I've been wanting to see a White-Letter Hairstreak since last year but never spotted one.But today i saw two & got one photo of each, how cool is that.
Hope you like the photos, they're not the best photos. But for my first White-Letter Hairstreaks,i'm more than happy with them.

| Nice one Kev,thank you very much.
It was a well cool day out today.Got to see loads of White Admirals,Three Purple Hairstreaks(but they were high up in the trees) & a couple of Purple Emperors(they just zoomed passed us though,no photo opportunity unfortunately).

| Cheers cherrybee,i think i might've been being a bit tough on myself coz i blew the highlights on the flower petals in the first photo & didn't get the wings sharp enough in the second photo.
I'll be back there again soon,so i hope i can get more photos.
Thanks for your nice comments.

I've often found that by lurking near bramble you get a whole raft of butterflies using it as a fueling stop. Pretty good for Bees, hoverflies and a myriad of other lovelies

| Thanks bugbotherer(btw i like your forum name,it's funny).
Yeah there were loads of butterflies going to & from the brambles.Just not the ones i wanted to photograph, lol. But it's always good to see butterflies, even if i've seen them 100's of times before.

| Cheers aeshna,i'll have to see over the next few days whether their tails shorten.I'll be going back to try to get more shots over the next week. It'll be interesting to find one with stubby tails, lol.
Thanks for the nice comments.
