| | | T Shaped flying thing? Hello everyone,
Saw an insect on the window at work today - never seen one before. Tried to take a photo with my mobile phone but it didn't quite work.
Essentially, the insect was in the shape of a capital T (with serif, rather than sans serif but I can't find the right font here) and with two longish feeler things on the top of the T so it looked something like this (without the dots of course - only way I could get it to line up): _v_
..|
It was about a centimeter long and across the top of the T and was a pale brown/beige colour. Any clues? |

BTW if I didn't welcome you before, can I say Welome to WAB. It's the friendliest site on the web and I know you will enjoy being a member.

| | | Re: T Shaped flying thing? Thanks everyone, yes, definitely a plume moth! I can add that to the list 'I have seen...'.
The grounds at work (near Trowbridge, Wiltshire) have quite an abundance of wildlife. I've managed to identify a Cinnabar moth (flying in the day!) and a small tortoiseshell butterfly all by myself but that one had me beat. Didn't thing it would be a moth..
And it's far too early in the morning for me to be able to add to the witticisms. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
