Common Blues?

Now, another question: I'm sure I remember reading about various types of females associated with the Blue-Tailed (I.elegans), does this happen with the Common Blue as well?

I believe there are 2 female forms of Common Blue - a blue and a green form, although the blue form often look more white than blue.

As Matt said, there are two forms of female Common Blue. You also get the immature stages which can lead to confusion, with pale straw-coloured areas. The green females eventually turn browner with age. Also the adult male blue colour will fade to grey in cold weather. Difficult little creatures these damselflies!
