Bug for ID please

Hi Gerel,

It's a plant bug, though I can't get it to species level at the moment. I'll get back to you if I do, or someone else may before

Pantilius tunicatus - a lovely mirid, and very striking. They emerge very late in the summer, and are presently crawling all over birch trees (and a few others).

Thanks for the ID, not something I've ever noticed before. Looking at the leaf again I think it may have been on hazel rather oak.

Hi Gerel, just collected a leaf from my hazel tree out of curiosity, and vein for vein you seem to be spot on with hazel.

Birch, Alder and Hazel are the main foodplants of Pantilius - I'd agree the leaf does not look like an oak
