Sorry foir this last one took in garden today at first I thought Peacock but it does not have the spots on the rear wings ,Help please new too Butterfly photography

It may be just that it was relaxed? It has them for defence purposes and so may not have felt the need to open them up completely?

BTW Don't worry about asking for IDs, we all do it and like the challenge!

A good time of year for newly emerged specimens before hibernation, so juvenile is a good call.

I think JasonGreen is right. It looks like the hindwing is slotted underneath the forewing. They do this more often when they are resting with their wings closed and push the forewings back over the hindwing, making the wings look smaller (like in my picture).

It is definitely a Peacock though.
