Sorry - but (as far as I know) there's no such thing as a "juvenile" butterfly - they don't change their appearance over time (other than getting damaged and losing the odd scale, so that they look faded)! This Peacock simply has its hindwings behind the forewings!

Having said that, there some species with transparent wings, that only become transparent after their first flight.

UK butterflies site says that "Variation in this species is almost non-existent, although one or two "blind Peacocks" without the eye markings, are reported in most years."

butterflies sometimes fold their upper wing sin abit, and that hides the lower wing spots. if you look, the wings appear smaller than usual, there are spots, they're just hidden
