| | | Small Skipper Hello, when i was out walking today i found this Small Skipper. It just posed & posed for me.I was able to get real close & take loads of photos.
This is my favourite from the bunch.
I would like to here peoples opinions of my inclusion of the second grass stem in the background.I like it.But i'm wondering what other peoples opinions are.
Cheers

| | | Re: Small Skipper It's a nice piccy !John. I managed to get a shot of one of thoes recently myself. Took ages to get one to sit still for long enough
Don't like the additional grass though

Edit

| Yo Sticky i was really lucky with this one as it sat for ages.Even when it flew off for a bit of a scrap/chase with other skippers. It kept returning to a similar spot.
Did you post your photo of the skipper you took?
I'm wondering how many other people will or wont like the grass stem.
I couldn't really get it in focus coz i was using F2.8 to try to blur all the other grasses around it.
Cheers for the reply.

| | | Re: Small Skipper Now I'm telling lies. It must be the heat. Mine was a large one.
Try adding a new bit of grass in Photoshop. I think it may give the piccy some balance. http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo...butterfly.html |

| The Small & Large Skippers look pretty similar. In fact looking at my photos & the pictures in my butterfly book,i'm now having a hard time deciding if it's a small or a large, lol.

| Yo Sticky,i don't mind removing stuff from my photos in photoshop that i could've removed whilst taking the photo. But i really don't like to add stuff or remove stuff that i just couldn't have done whilst there.
I've done a quick patch tool on the grass stem & removed it.Let me know what you reckon.

| Thanks Jenny i like it too.I don't think you have to be an expert to say what you like or don't like about the photo.Just go with how you feel. It's all subjective
Here's the photo but with the stem removed.Let me know if you like it more now.
