| | | Help me id this insect please i was just in my garden in plymouth and seen a flying insect like ive never seen b4. it was about and inch and half long with skinny wings and a bright orange tail. can anyone help??? |

| | | re: Help me id this insect please Not really much to go on here. Was it a 'normal' tail or long and thin, etc.
I'm also thinking Ichneumon here but one of the Crane Flies is also a possibility; maybe one of the Tipula family.
Going back to Ichneumons, did you also check the Ophion range? A form of sawfly is also possible. |
