Wow, very interesting. So, what does an average day of looking after A.mellifera consist of?

Very little, in fact. We only open up the hive every few weeks to check for Varroa mite which is one of the main Honey Bee threats at the moment, as well as checking the Queen is okay and the hive is neat and tidy (get rid of any bridging of the comb).

If you open them up every day it simply stresses them out, not good for the honey!!
