Grasshoppers

Was out looking at Orchids today and for a bit of fun, I thought I would take some piccies of Grasshoppers.

These remind me of my childhood,my grandfathers place had a long footpath which ran alongside a raised bank on top of which was a chicken run
The bank swarmed with grasshoppers and I was always watching or catching them
occasionally one would leap too high and pass through the chicken wire into the chicken run
and land in the midst of the chickens......there would be a frozen moment as the chickens assessd the new situation,then heads would click to one side and move left and right to get a good focus the spell would break and a pecking frenzy would ensue as the grasshopper hopped for its life in a mellee of stabbing beaks and stamping yellow legs
