| | | Re: Help please, tiny specs/bugs in house Not had any adult larder beetles, the only bugs we've had are the ones like the ones in the picture. I've been trying to find out what they are and the closest i've came is flour mites.. Entomology (Study of Bugs): Mites? In the Garage., flour mites, dry dogfood
Aparantly the treatment is hoover, hoover and more hoovering pretty much daily with a bagless vaccum emptying it away from the house after every use. This worked for me for the bugs in the kitchen and they stayed away for about 6 months only now are they starting to come back, need to start hoovering them again. |

I also had a massive infestation indoors once, when I kept dogs. I used to store sacks of their dried food in the vestibule. One warm August, we took delivery of an already infested batch, and as they were so tiny, I hadn't even noticed until they escaped all over the hallway! The manufacturer took the bags back and replaced them and provided us with insect killer (just the ordinary fly spray) which got rid of them.
It is my understanding that once their food source is gone, they will perish....
Another thing I notice when I dip my hands into a bag of mix that has these mites, I now know of their presence immediately as I start itching and develop a mild rash! So I don't even need to see the little blighters now
hth!
