Death of a damselfly

Took these at Fen Drayton lakes. I believe it is a common blye damselfly. It is caught in the flimsiest of webs. In the second shot, it looks as if the head has become separated fom the rest of the body

I think it's a female Common Blue damselfly.

I saw something similar on a pond in mid-June. A spider (possibly Tetragnatha extensa) had caught an azure damselfly. There was a web on the leaves of the yellow irises but it wasn't particularly visible from where I was standing. The head of the damselfly seems to be at an odd angle. Perhaps spiders try to separate the head from the body.
Unfortunately I was out looking for birds and a 400mm lens isn't ideal for shots of insects!
