I've just found a green, beetle-like insect about 20 mm long in our kitchen (which my wife asked me to put ouside!) and I don't know what it is. I have taken some photos of it, but don't know how to go about identifying it. Can anybody help me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Hi, the best thing to do would be to get your photos uploaded on to this web site. There are some really good experts who I'm sure would be able to identify it for you  If you want you could look through the Gallery as well, you never know it might be there.

As you may see I have now worked out how to do it and posted the photo so am hoping I may get it identified.
I have had a look through the Gallery but couldn't find the one I have just seen.

Sorry about that djackso, I started another post when I should have added to the existing! My mistake. I got several responses to that so I now know it is a male Speckled Bush Cricket. Here is the photo. I am rather pleased with the quality of my photo, but then it should be good - I was using my recently-purchased Canon digital SLR with an image stabilised macro lens!
