| | Field trip with WAB member
Hi there,
I am a fairly new member to WAB but after asking a another local member for help and advice on seeing a Beautiful Demoiselle (they are pretty rare up here in the Highlands) I was taken to the site where he had seen them before and sure enough within 10 minutes we not only saw a stunning male but it posed for me so I could take the photo above. Unfortunately it was the only one we managed to see (I think we may have missed the peak emergence/mating time) but the Small Tortoiseshell butterfly and Grasshopper were added bonuses. My thanks go to Seamusagleann for his kind help that day and we even met a couple out walking who told us of another area where they can be seen.
Without WAB help I would be spending the rest of my life looking for this gorgeous damselfly.

| | Re: Field trip with WAB member Hi Highlander ,
Great pics, I have quite a lot of damselflies and dragonflies pics, but only managed a rather blurry shot of a beautiful demoiselle , I feel rather envious now, but I'll get one in the end,

Hope you get your shot soon dmclean2. Thanks for the comments Seamus. Look forward to another trip soon. |

Wish there were some fellow WAB members down here in South East Kent to meet up with and share a glass of homemade wine too, hic!
