Huge fly
Found this incredible fly in my house today. 25mm long.
Would be very grateful for an ID.

It looks like the Horse fly - Tabanus sudeticus, I'm sure someone with more knowledge will confirm the ID for you.
I hope you got it out of your house pretty sharply.

I think its been likened to a Wasp sting, although one`s never bitten me yet .

The female can inflict quite a painful bite, they are blood suckers and attack large mammels including man (and of course women), so be careful.
