Vespula vulgaris ?
I caught this Wasp dissecting a Slug today, it took it away chunk by chunk, and when it had finished, the Flies and Harvestmen moved in ...

It looks like a worker Vespula vulgaris, it will be taking the slug to feed the larvae back at the nest. If you can try and photo them from above or their face it makes ID a little easier.

I agree with Dogghound. On balance, this looks like a worker V. vulgaris, but side-on shots are seldom conclusive

You know i had loads of face shots, but i deleted them, i thought it was open and close with this Wasp ...
