| | | ID help - a bee and some grasshoppers Three pictures of a bee. It may be one of the Andrena species but my books don't give enough detail.
The colour variations of grasshoppers confuse me. The more places I look, the less confident I feel about putting a name to these.
Two views of the same grasshopper.
Three more grasshoppers

| | | Re: ID help - a bee and some grasshoppers I had the same bee ID'd recently and Eucera said it was a M. centuncularis.
Your first 'hopper is a Field Grasshopper I think. The bent white line on the dark smudge on the shoulder and red-ish abdomen point to this sp..
Your other 'hoppers may be the same as well, except the last - it could be a Meadow Grasshopper.

| | | Re: ID help - a bee and some grasshoppers yeah the first grasshopper is a field grasshopper and the others are as well i think apart from the last which is either meadow or common green (which is very variable) |

| | | Re: ID help - a bee and some grasshoppers Many thanks for the IDs. There are plenty of grasshoppers and crickets around just now so I'll try to get some practice. It's just a shame they don't pose properly when I want to take pictures! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
