Thanks Gill. And I did give up after a couple of hours. That meadow in the middle of Chambers Wood was a heat trap. Not a breath of wind, even.

Hi Gill,
Reckon Ben and I walked a good few miles around that meadow to photograph these. I feel like I've done a marathon, mind you that could be my age beginning to tell.

Well done Roger and Ben, and thanks for sharing your photos with us.

Don't know if I've ever seen a White Admiral (certainly not since I was a child), but I'm fortunate enough to see Marbled Whites frequently here on the chalky grasslands on the edge of the Chilterns. There seem to be plenty of Ringlets here too at the moment.
