Small Black Wasp ?
On Sunday I took these two quick photos of a small (Under 10 mm) black hymenopteran, which I presume is a wasp.



It was on an Elder leaf in a suburban area of Notts.

Any guidance as to what it might be appreciated!

They look like a species of Hylaeus - a solitary bee.

Its a female Hylaeus bee. Very wasp-like and collects pollen by swallowing it (they have no scopal hairs at all)

I'm glad I put a query behind wasp: I'm beginning to learn that not is all as it seems in the world of aculeates!
