| | | Mixed bag for id please! I took all these on Tuesday at Warburg, obviously there are a lot of gaps in my knowledge
Oh well here they are:
1. A tiny ladybird (and very poor photo)
2. A bug (apologies for the close-up of my skin...)
3. A shield bug nymph? (on a more attractive background...)
4. A robber-fly?
5. An ichneumonid..
and finally...
6. A beetle...
any help would be very appreciated! as you can see, the 'unidentified' section on my hard drive gets bigger by the day... |

| | | Re: Mixed bag for id please! Cheers aeshna5, I did see another Deraeocoris ruber the same day, but it was a much more orange colour. It didn't click that they could be the same species! Is it the colour of their cuneus that identifies them? |

| | | Re: Mixed bag for id please! The ladybird is a ten-spot Adalia decempunctata - the forebody pattern is typical as are the pale legs. Has a very variable spot number (0-15 at least). |

I thought Cantharis cryptica was a synonym for C. pallida? [ http://www.coleopterist.org.uk/checklist2008%20A5.pdf ]
With no black markings on the legs, I would have gone for C. rufa.

I thought Cantharis cryptica was a synonym for [i]C. pallida | right, I'm obviously a bit out of date here | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
