On inside metal wall of tunnel under road. General habitat is open grassland left to wildflowers with lake and river nearby.
Size errrr....largish.....say 15mm (ish). Sorry forgot to note size on this one so working from memory.
Help with id appreciated.

Armed with your species id I've Googled quite a few pics - and of course you are spot-on  . Interestingly the species seems quite variable in colour and markings (within identifiable limits) and was wondering if gender can be determined from a dorsal image?

ps - plenty of stinging nettles in the area as my arms and hands well know. I wonder if you can develop an immunity to nettle stings? |
