Fly, body about 5mm


Not sure what it is, about 6mm. On a primrose, the next day it was gone and I think the leaf was eaten.


Fly, has long hairs on its abdomen. About 6 or 7mm.

The second one is a larva and looks familiar but I think you've taken it from the blunt end ... need to sleep on that!

The larva is obviously a hoverfly, I'm sure Paul knows this and is wrecking his brain for a species name - which I certainly won't be able to provide - but I thought that, for the time being, you might want to know it's 4 flies after all

The first fly looks like Sapromyza zettersedti (Lauxaniidae). Fly number 3 is a tachinid and the mating pair look like a species of Phytomyza (Agromyzidae).
