| | | Ladybird help, please Took this yesterday and it doesn't fit any of the descriptions in Chinery and one of his other guides. It seems to fall between two stools.
Can anyone help, please?
Thanks

Colin | I was so frustrated that the new Chinery edition that came out last year omitted this species as it is so common now + the sort of insect that a non-specialist will find in their garden, look it up + of course it's not in it. I appreciate such books can't be all inclusive, but this was a species crying out to be included. similarly I believe the Rosemary Beetle should have been included. Using Chinery to ID the latter people may assume (wrongly!) that they have the extremely rare Chrysolina cerealis in their garden.
A good little book that came out a few months ago called a :
Guide to Garden Wildlife by Richard Lewington is pretty useful for these now familiar insects. |
