ok now the annoying thing here is i have no photos... sorry but they have been cleaned up and even though i asked them to leave one for me... they didnt.
heres the story, i moved into a top floor flat, i have a loft space... handy yes? no... there is a nest in there, small about the size of 3 fists.
when i turned the central heating on to test it, it got quite warm (as it would) about 25 C in the flat... the next day there were 15-25 dead bees on the window sill in the sun facing bedroom (and a few in the bathroom opposite)
they were all from the same nest as one was alive and it was going upto and "sniffing" the other bees, it looked kinda sad.
they were small, probably young bees from a new nest, their thorax was furry, their abdomen was not, slightly larger bit at the top of their rear legs, colouring was black and yellow, banded around the thorax and black yellow black on the abdomen, just 3 stripes...
one of the dead ones had its probiscus out it was kinda curly, wings were thing and long not short and wide...
if anyone can put up some links to photos of say a honey bee a wasp and a bumble bee i can tell you which one
i want to know mostly because if its honey bees, i know they will swarm and that was a scout party... if its bombus terrestris then i need to move them somewhere safe a few miles away and if they are wasps i need to get my 9 week old baby out and get the nest destroyed
it has been 5 days and there have been no more anywhere and there is no buzzing in the loft.
