Hi jenna. All those in that picture are colour forms of the Harlequin Ladybird, so if your insects are like that, and shiny, and about 5 millimetres long, that is what they are. They do no harm inside your house, unless you have them in very large numbers, in which case they might cause staining to fabric or wallpaper. They can get through the tiniest of gaps, and will fly in through open windows or doors, so there is no realistic way to keep them out, I'm afraid.

yes, sorry for not making that clear, that picture shows the colour forms of one ladybird species, the harlequin ladybird, which is currently spreading up through the country, which is a problem for our native ladybird species.
