Definitely one of the C. ignita group of sibling species. Probably wise to record it as Chrysis ignita agg. (see recent correspondence on this for the reasoning)

Must be ruby-tailed wasp season  . Interestingly either the same individual (as I posted yesterday) or another of the same species came into the house again this lunchtime - so of course I took the opportunity to take some more pics  .

Yes; these must be out in force at the moment. I suppose weather and seasonal factors cause these peaks in activity, I`ve noticed it with other species at other times.
Thats` a brilliant picture BTW and helps me with ID because I saw one last week and couldn`t believe the dazzling colours but I didn`t have time to follow it up.
