| | | New fly on the block Can someone give me a bit more detail about this new fly found in Scotland. Had about an inch paper clipping handed to me today. Apparently it's called the black Christii fly-Ectaetia Christii. Must be mind blowing discovering a new species whatever it is.
Don't laugh but my biggest ambition is to find a new dinosaur and have it named after me because I also love palaentology. I have collected for about 35 yeras now.ww

| | | Re: New fly on the block Ectaetia is a genus of Scatopsidae. Most are small black flies although the genus Apiloscatopse, which occurs on ivy blossom contains yellow species. The family is under-worked in the British Isles and additional species are not uncommon. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
