| | | lack of insects I dont know about elsewhere, but round my area there seems to be a general lack of insects - I've been noticing this because they are conspicuous by their absence, for example, just walked up to the supermarket by the rural route through the woods and meadows and the weather seems perfect for insects, warm and dry, but I only saw one insect, a Speckled Wood butterfly and that was all, there were no Swallows sweeping across the meadows catching flies so I dont know whats going on - maybe it is a result of all the wet weather thats been this spring? |

| | | Re: lack of insects There is definitely a lack of ladybirds this year in my garden. At the ponds that I have been to I have rarely seen any dragonflies. But I've seen the usual number of Holly Blues and the odd Speckled Wood in the garden. The swift are fairly active in this area too - so I guess that that is a good sign. |

"I've been stuggling for butterflies this year apart from Holly Blues there does seem to be less around
Also the dragonflies are a bit later this year too
I have been seeing lots of Bumble bees though
