My First Broad-Bodied Chaser

I've been seeing this beauty in my garden since last monday and didn't know what it was until today.

I started the GIANT WOOD WASP thread because it was moving so fast i couldn't make head nor tail of it?

Anyway it was lurking round my lavender earlier and i was able to take a few photo's, this one being the best of the bunch

I'm so pleased i knew these WILDLIFE PONDS were going to be a FANTASTICAL idea

Well I've just been out again and when the Sun comes out she appears

so shes had a lengthy rest and i was able to take this one which is better



I just need the MALE to turn up now but that might be asking to much??

Great photos bouncytigger. I'm not sure if they're common, but saw one (also female) earlier this week and that was the first time I'd ever noticed one. I'm trying to pay more attention to whats around......

I was so relieved and more ralaxed now i know what it is and OVER THE MOON to which is nice considering as i had it down as a cross between A KILLER WASP and THE MONSTER FROM THE BLACK LAGOON at the beginning of the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!
