EBW? is that in kent? I know that they only exist in about 3 areas in the UK.

I saw my first 2 or 3 at my usual site in Essex last weekend ....  
They are truly beautiful butterflies and of course very rare in the UK.

I recently put together a short 'A' Level course on the Heath Fritillary and it's Biodiversity to students. This was great fun both for me and my students as they learned a lot, especially from the 10 questionaire at the end!

I again visited my local site in Essex yesterday late afternoon.
This time there were at least 10 or 12 Heath Fritillaries on the wing and probably more as they were very mobile and seemed to be in every direction I was looking.
Some new photos including the beautiful underwing ....
