| | | ID of this insect? I was visiting my sister near London last week and this insect was in her kitchen. I was reading online and there's something called a stink bug, it looks rather like it? |

Your insect is a Green Shield Bug - Palomena prasina. Pretty common at this time of year. I'm pretty sure that they have been nicknamed that- rather apt if you give it a sniff

| | | Re: ID of this insect? It is one of the green shieldbugs Palomena prasina. While I have never really noticed their smell I once was squirted in the eye by one. It was just like getting soap in the eye! |

| | | Re: ID of this insect? Thanks for the welcome! I've never seen anything like it in the UK before, although I must say, I cant say I've looked very hard. Is the Shield bug another name for the stink bug? I'll have to have a look online at some documents, pretty interesting! |
