Smile Ant or Flightless Wasp?
Hi,

Just a quick confirmation please! I have photographed this today thinking it was an ant - but particularly the second appears to have abnormally long antenae and a head the same shape as a parasitic or gall wasp's.

I don’t think either of them is an Ant, don’t Ants have a bend in there antenna. Saying that apart from agreeing with you that they may be parasitic wasps I am afraid I cannot help.

Certainly not ants... the second could be a species of Gelis (a parasitic wasp)
