Hello Kayleigh,

No, this wasn't by my pond (although there are dozens of Large Red damselflies and there has been a large dragonfly but I have identified the species yet).

Scarce Chasers like slow flowing rivers and are nationally scarce, and a red book data species I believe, although common in area where they are found (if that makes sense).

Fortunately I live a five minute walk away from the most AMAZING site for damsel and dragonflies that I have ever seen.

Shame they are going to plonk a new housing estate right next to it. That will probably be the end of that site as far as wildlife is concerned

I have got to differ with you on this point. I went for a walk in the rain today (going stir crazy so had to get out) and came across a male in the buttercups. His abdomen was pink and blue! Beautiful.
